Our mission

Why Day Group Inc. exists.

Most people who contact a Licensed Insolvency Trustee have been carrying debt stress for months before they pick up the phone. They have avoided the problem, hoped it would resolve itself, or been misled by companies that promised relief and delivered very little.

Day Group Inc. exists to be the opposite of that experience. We are licensed professionals with a legal obligation to act in your interest. We explain every option available to you, including options that do not involve us. And we do not tell you what you want to hear if it is not true.

The prairie provinces are our home. We understand the economic landscape here, the industries our clients work in, and the specific provincial rules that govern insolvency in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. That local knowledge matters when we are working through the details of your situation.

Our commitment

We will tell you the truth about your options, explain every path clearly, and never steer you toward a process that does not serve your actual best interest. That is not a marketing statement. It is a legal obligation, and we take it seriously.

  • Licence No. 4172

Jordan Day is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) and Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals, families and small business owners across Western Canada address serious financial challenges.

Jordan advises clients on consumer proposals, personal and business bankruptcies, and informal arrangements with creditors. He understands that financial difficulties affect more than the numbers. They can place significant stress on families, businesses, relationships and future plans.

His approach is compassionate, practical, and judgment-free. Jordan takes the time to understand each client’s financial circumstances, review the actual numbers and explain the available options in plain language. He is straightforward about what each option involves, what it may cost and what the client will be responsible for, so they can make an informed decision without feeling pressured.

Jordan’s goal is to help each client find a realistic and sustainable path forward that they understand and can successfully complete.

Outside the office, Jordan enjoys spending time with his family and staying busy on his farm.

How we work

The principles behind every conversation.

These are not aspirational statements written for a website. They describe the specific things we commit to in every file we handle.

No pressure. No agenda.

We do not earn more if you file a consumer proposal instead of choosing another path. We are legally required to explain all options. You decide what is right for your situation.

Plain language, always.

Insolvency law involves technical language. Our job is to translate it into plain, honest English so you understand exactly what each step involves, what it costs, and what it means for your life.

No judgement.

Debt is a circumstance, not a character trait. People find themselves in financial difficulty for every reason imaginable. You will not be judged here. The conversation starts where you are.

Complete confidentiality.

Your conversations with a Licensed Insolvency Trustee are professional and private. We do not share your information except as required by the regulatory process, and we explain when that applies.

Regulated fees. No surprises.

LIT fees are set by federal law. You know exactly what any formal process costs before you agree to proceed. No upfront charges for a consumer proposal and no hidden fees in a bankruptcy.

Prairie knowledge.

We know Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba: the industries here, the economic pressures people face, and the specific provincial rules that affect exemptions and options in your situation.

The difference

What makes Day Group different from other debt help options.

The Canadian debt help industry includes many types of companies. Here is why the distinction matters and what it means for you.

We are the only professionals who can file your proposal or bankruptcy

Consumer proposals and bankruptcies can only be administered by a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. No debt consultant or settlement company can do this, regardless of how they describe themselves.

Only a filing stops collection calls and wage garnishments

The legal Stay of Proceedings is automatic on the day of filing. It cannot be triggered by any other type of arrangement, debt negotiation, or consultant engagement.

Our fees are regulated by federal law

Debt settlement companies set their own fees, charge them upfront, and keep them regardless of outcome. LIT fees are set by the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. You cannot be overcharged.

We are required to disclose all your options

Before any formal process begins, we are legally required to explain every option available to you, including those that do not involve Day Group. That obligation does not exist for unregulated companies.

Questions about Day Group

Frequently asked questions.

Common questions about who we are, how we work, and what to expect.

Yes, completely. There is no charge for the initial consultation and no obligation to proceed with anything afterward. The consultation typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. You can ask any questions you like and leave with a clear picture of your options, with no commitment required.

Yes. We offer consultations by phone, video call, or in person. For clients in more remote areas of the prairie provinces, phone and video work just as well as an in-person meeting. The entire consumer proposal and bankruptcy process can be completed without requiring you to visit an office in person.

That uncertainty is exactly what the free consultation is for. Many people who contact us are not sure whether they need a consumer proposal, a bankruptcy, a debt consolidation, or something else. By the end of the conversation, you will have a clear understanding of every option available to you and an honest assessment of which, if any, makes sense.

A Licensed Insolvency Trustee is required by law to explain all your options before recommending any particular path. You will not be pushed toward a process that does not serve your actual needs.

Yes. Your conversations with a Licensed Insolvency Trustee are professional and private. We do not share your information with creditors, employers, or any third party except as required by the regulatory process under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. We will always explain clearly if and when any information is shared as part of a formal process.

You can reach us by phone at 825-450-2193, by email at claims@daydebt.com, or through the contact form on our website. You can also book a consultation directly through our free consultation page, choosing a time that works for your schedule.
